GENERAL

1. All rules and protests not covered below will be according to the AMA rule book.
2. All riders who live within District 16 must be a member of the AMA or ATVA and purchase a District 16 Card.

CLASSES

AMATEUR

  1. 250 A, B, C 122cc-250cc.
  2. Open A, B, C 122cc-Open cc.
  3. Sportsman B/C 14 thru 24 years old. 122-Open cc. Riders who turn 25 after the start of the season may finish the season in this class.
  4. Masters 25+A&B 122cc-Open cc. (25 years & older)
  5. Vet 30+B 122cc-Open cc. (30 years & older)
  6. Vet 35+A 122cc-Open cc. (35 years & older)
  7. Senior 40+ 122cc-Open cc. (40 years & older)
  8. Senior 50+ 122cc-Open cc. (50 years & older)
  9. Women 79cc-250cc. (9 years & older)
  10. No Super Mini/Big Wheel cycles allowed in the Amateur classes, except Women.
• The age of an Amateur rider is determined as of the date of the event. The minimum age for amateur riders is 12 years. 14 years and older to ride motorcycles above 250cc. (Ref: AMA Sports rule book chapter 2)

YOUTH

Peewee Jr 4-6 51cc max. 4-6 years old. Single speed automatic.
Peewee Sr 7-8 51cc max. 7-8 years old. Single speed automatic.
Mini65 7-11 59cc-65cc 2-stroke. 7-11 years old.
MiniJr 9-11 79cc-85cc, 2-stroke. 9-11 years old.

MiniSr 12-15 79cc-85cc 2-stroke.  12-15 years old.
125Jr 12-16 86cc-125cc 2-stroke, 75cc-150cc 4-Stroke, 12-16 ears old. Min. rear wheel 16” Min. front wheel 19”

 

  • A Youth rider’s age on January 1 will determine their age for the year. (Ref: AMA Sports rule book chapter 5)
  • No “A” riders are permitted to compete in the Youth classes.  
  • Complete class descriptions are found in the AMA Sports rule book.

ATV

1. Quad A, B, C 200cc min. 2&4 stroke, Rider must be 16 years old minimum.
2. Quad classes are run at the track’s option.

OPTIONAL(Non-Points)

1. Super Mini 80cc-112cc 2-stroke, 75cc-150cc 4-stroke (Includes big wheel minicycles)
2. 2-Stroke 122cc-Open cc. 2-Stroke.
3. Unlimited A 122-Open cc.

POINTS/AWARDS

  1. Points will only be awarded to riders with a District 16 card.
  2. A rider may receive District 16 season awards in up to 2 classes.
  3. All Amateur, Youth, and ATV classes will receive season awards. Optional classes will not receive season awards.
  4. To receive district points a rider must compete at least 50% of the laps completed by the class winner and receive the checkered flag.
  5. District points will be awarded for each moto using the following schedule.

  6. A rider’s best 44(40 for Quads) moto finishes will count toward their season point total.

 

ADVANCEMENT

1. Riders will be advanced by using the AMA National Advancement System.
2. SportsmanB/C class may be used to advance riders from C to B and B to A.
3. Vet 35+A/ B and Masters +25A/B rider classification will be separate from 250 and Open rider classification.
4. Vet 30+B and Masters +25B riders will be advanced to A with a RPV of 15 or higher.

 

RACE DAY

1. Suggested starting times:
• Signup 6:00-6:30am
• Practice 7:00-8:00am
• Races 9:00-9:30am
• Night before race signup
2. Classes may be combined in the same moto and scored separately. Multiple gate drops may be used.
3. An alternate track may be used for the Peewee(and other) classes if available/needed.

 

EQUIPMENT

1. All cycles will have 3 number plates of OEM material, thickness, and style.
2. Quads will have at least a rear number plate mounted below the grab bar.
3. All number plates must be legible with contrasting colors. Chrome/reflective numbers are not allowed.
4. It is recommended that helmets have numbers at least 3” high on both sides, and 8” high on their back.
5. All numbers on the rider and motorcycle/quad must match.
6. It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure number legibility. If a rider appeals their score and the numbers are not properly displayed, a protest will be disallowed. There will be no exceptions to this rule. (from AMA rule book)
7. No Paddle tires allowed.
